baked apples

Nothing says "fall" quite like the sweet aroma of baked apples. Being up in the mountains with the cool, crisp air, I decided baked apples were just the thing for this evening (well, that and the fact that there are quite a few apples in the fridge on the verge of spoiling). First, I peeled and cut up three apples and put them in a pot on the stove to make some applesauce for Zion. Then, I took the peels and put those on a cookie sheet in the oven on low heat to dry.
Now, for the real treat. Next, I'm going to core whole apples, fill them with brown sugar and butter, and place them in the oven to bake. Yummy!
